As courtier Ikus has grown up within her family fully aware of the potential roles expected of her and has performed thusly. Only a handful of years older than the Empress, and her father a favoured courtier of the late Aysa III for his considerable skill at obtaining shiny objects in line with whatever was deemed fashionable at the time, she has been a close 'friend' of Aysa IV since a young age as the pair were normally in the vicinity of each other at any given moment when free.

From children through to adulthood, the Empress' famed temper has been in direct comparison with Ikus' outward gentility and subservience. Ikus has not yet failed her Empress on any task and it is considered common knowledge that she is a useful courtier who has come from a pedigree line of ancestors. It is whispered that should the Empress' unfortunate death come to pass and there are no blood relatives to succeed her, she is so fond of Ikus that she could even leave her her title.
