In the world of Djemity, news travels fast, borne on the fleetest of Aquienos Ships, flown across the land in Sylphim Floating Isles, or whispered through miles of stone by Teklo Wordsmiths. Of course, as fast as news and official reports travel, rumour and hearsay are quicker to spread throughout the world.
Teklo report to Jerad, speaking of the action in the Seraphol Forest
… and the forces under the command of Admiral Mar'Kaven'Fra were at last successful at destroying the 'Spire'. The large number of siege engines brought in by Warden-Marshal Dach Fra Ver and Warden-Commander Sul Fra Kand were able to deal enough damage to it, though at a loss of a great number of engines.
I note here that the Spire was of a significantly different construction to any Numina structure we have record of. I myself saw it transform into a great many shapes and attack the Teklo forces. We must be indebted to the assistance of the Becquerel Arch-Druid Woden, I am told, for he enabled the Teklo forces to march easily through he Seraphol and communicate on the hectic battlefield …
… reported by Admiral Jinbe. The star-cannons were again successful …
… inquired of the Aquienos Champion of the Fleet, Litha’Thra’Tru'Mas but she only mentioned that she had fought through much of the Spire, helping destroy the structure from the inside …
heard around Kirlsa campfires
So Sirana and Dach teamed up to go hunt that wyrm we hadn't noticed until recently. Eumelos was there too! And Chumana, I know. Anyhow they found its lair and killed over 50,000 wyrmlings! I'm sure Eumelos did most of it for them! Oh shush. anyhow, I saw it flying with a lame wing and blood pouring from its eye. It was headed towards the Azure mountain. Bet its holed up somewhere there to roost. Eumelos is so awesome! Look kid, remember that at least 1000 Kirlsa and Teklo died helping him. I hear it was that Teklo Dach who put its eye out anyway.
A great column of smoke now srifts lazily into the air, visible from all over the Blighted lands.
Travelers asking what it is are told that apparently a crack assault team managed to bring down the huge numina monolith that until recently hung in the skies.
If you need them, if you can find them, maybe you can call on the Djemity A-team.
A number of observations have been made of the red moon.
The first realization that something was wrong with the red moon, was down to the Aquienos Navigators, whose observations of the celestial bodies is diligent and constant. Theological papers were published about the appearance of lines on the surface, however the largely unimportant nature of the moons, meant they were mostly overlooked.
However these lines grew, until they were visible with the naked eye, and it became obvious these were cracks, that the Red Moon was breaking up. As the cracks deepen and spread the moon glows with an increasing baleful read light, and it seems that in the heart of the deepest cracks there are pinpricks of purple light.
War Fleet Scout reports to Citadel Representatives.
Reports are coming in that the second wave of obelisks have entered the waters of Djemity. With the amount of experience the forces of Djemity have gather in fighting the Numina foe, it seems likely that our troops will be able to hold the line against obelisks that exhibit no uniquely destructive capabilities. While the wave shall be monitored for this variety of Obelisks, the most pressing danger is the appearance of a Black Wyrm, actually shaped and carved into the Spire, flying over the ocean towards Djemity.
Across the continent the Races have faced a number of high profile assassinations and mass murders which investigators are laying at the door of so-called Numina 'wraiths'.
Whilst previous seasons have seen several examples of families or injured slain by those possessed by insane, gibbering ghosts, these recent attacks appear to be the result of an intelligent campaign calculated to cause maximum damage to the peoples of Djemity.
In some cases it seems that these attempts at possession have been fought off, with Guardian Dasanti of the Kirlsa claiming “Something tried to attack me as I slept, but it was not the strongest spirit I have mastered and I broke it across the ramparts of my mind.”
Kirlsa tells a story of his journey through the Seraphol
“On the third day, I was attacked again, the swords flying out of the ground and coming at me from all sides. They were no trouble - little challenge, but little reward too.”
“On the seventh, this grew tiresome. I broke every sword that came at me, but I still fought them daily. There were a few beasts, but too easily scared away.”
“Then the next day more than two dozen came at me at once, though only one damned thing got past. It wedged in me and the others flew away. I can't pretend to understand the next bit, but I heard something that claimed to be from Eki, urging me on to tell all that its master was dying. It would be a pain until someone helped it.”
“Well, I ignored it of course. But a month later I met this Druid, and he told me that many others had experienced the same, so I took my Fenling Bear spirits and made it back to give you crack on the skull!”
From the captain's logs of the Illiss, Aquienos Home Fleet Trader
And so on the seventh day of our voyage away from the Praetor ship, we passed close by the barren Isles, we saw smoke rising from the shore. Mindful of the potential dangers, nonetheless, I ordered a row-boat lowered and a marine detachment to investigate.
Midshipman Teey'Illiss'TruEsDi'Mas reported that upon the shore were several hundred Becquerel, burning seaweed to create smoke. They gestured and waved to the row-boat, but it was decided that we did not have sufficient authority to treat with these Becquerel and that instead, we should report back to the Praetor Ship what had been discovered.
As we were leaving the Barren Isles, we noted that in addition to the column of smoke we had investigated, there were at least two dozen more appearing on various locations around the Barren Isles. We can only assume there were many more Becquerel present at those fires.
Three days before the Citadel meeting morning's light reveals a great continent seperated from Djemity by just a few open miles of water.
Many eager explorers to the new land have not returned but the few who have report a thick jungle filled with a host of angry sprites.
One Aquienos returned covered in tattoos where apparently a wordsprite had savaged him. The glyphs were reported to read “Thieves and Trepassers will be Punished.”
