Crailth - Jonathan R

Player: Jonathan R

Caste: Chithana

A very high-ranking officer in the Imperial Chithana, Crailth is known to have utterly forsworn art and aesthetic in favour of the hard, brutal and ruthless service to the Empire that his caste provides. He has a long career of military service behind him, and is not known for his good temperament.

Eternity

Following his coup High Commander Crailth effectively ruled the Empire for several months until the restoration of Empress Aysa saw him toppled from his position. In the following years many ambitious Chithana officers hunted the maverick Commander, hoping to make their reputations by bringing in the renegade. None ever succeeded; several of the less salubrious candidates instead having their dirty laundry spread across the Isles, whilst the more conscientious prospects sometimes find another high profile criminal dumped upon their doorsteps.

Although orders for his arrest were never rescinded, Empress Aysa never seemed to take Crailth's rebellion personally, and often held up the Commander as an example of how too much hardship had been rested upon the backs of the Imperial Chithana.

For more than a century after his disappearance the gutters of the Isles were swept clean by a mysterious masked vigilante. Many attribute this to a string of copy-cat vigilantes, others suggest his longevity was the result of an ascetic diet of cigarettes and hard liquor, whilst more credulous souls speak of a terrible spirit of justice keeping the Sylphim people safe.

Legacy

“You're a loose volcano, Crailth! You're a maverick, and you don't do it by the book! Now get out there and solve the Teklo murders, or your ass is grass!” - Artist Va'Shan as High Commander Shale in the stage production of 'Crailth and Verenjay on the Case', one of many plays about the adventures of those two notorious tough cops.

“Nobody is certain who exactly the mysterious vigilante known as 'The Firebrand' is, who stalks the streets of the Sylphim Empire delivering justice to miscreants. No station appears to be exempt from his attention. Corrupt officials, courtiers, generals, criminals of all kinds have suffered his wrath. He rarely kills, it seems, but his methods always get results. Allegedly he has some manner of accomplice, although few who witness Firebrand ever talk at length about the affair…” - An excerpt from 'Legends in our lifetime' by Artist Usratha
